When you live in your rv, how can you leave it unoccupied for 6 weeks if you are not from the local area? I think you will find that the 340 HP Cummins is an ISB engine which is 6.7L and has a little over 600 lb-ft of peak torque. In lighter DP it will work well, give you plenty of power for towing your trailer and likely give you good fuel economy. My coach is a 40 ft that weights a little over 30K pounds and it has the Cummins ISC 8.3L with 330 HP but has 950 lb-ft of peak torque. It performs well and has no problem pulling our car behind it and pulls grades well with the higher torque. I think Gary has posted somewhere here previously that a good rule of thumb is to have 1 HP per 100 lbs.
